The Gol Gohar mining region is recognized as the most prominent active mining-industrial region in the country. The region contains a significant iron ore reserve, consisting of six distinct anomalies and a total reserve of 1.2 billion tons. Situated in Kerman province and southwest of Sirjan township, the Gol Gohar Mining and Industrial Company leads as the largest producer in the nation, with a production capacity exceeding 15 million tons of concentrate and 10 million tons of pellets.
To further enhance its value chain, the company has expanded its operations to include the production of direct reduced iron by establishing steel companies. Future plans involve the completion of the production chain with the manufacturing of thin slabs and steel sections. Gol Gohar aims to become the first region in Iran to encompass all production processes from mining to the final product. KCE is responsible for providing supervision services for the exploitation of iron ore mines in collaboration with the Sirjan Iron Ore Complex.
