The Kerman Exploratory Block project is owned by Mobarakeh Steel & Atomic Energy Co. (TAMAS), with KCE serving as the project’s consultant. This project covers an area of 3300 square kilometers and is located in Kerman, spanning the townships of Kerman, Sirjan, Zarand, Rafsanjan, and Shahrebabak.
Within the exploratory block are three distinct exploration areas known as Zangi Abad, Sookhteh Chal, and Bidkhoon. Zangi Abad, covering 1915 square kilometers, is situated near Kerman, Zarand, Davaran, and Rafsanjan. Preliminary exploration activities, including prospecting and geochemical surveys, have been conducted in the Sookhteh Chal area, with plans to proceed to the detailed exploration phase.
Sookhteh Chal, encompassing 880 square kilometers, is located between the southeast of Shahrebabak and the northwest of Sirjan township. Initial exploration efforts, such as prospecting, have been completed in this area, paving the way for the detailed exploration phase.
Minerals such as iron (hematite and magnetite), copper (malachite, azurite, tenorite, chalcocite, bornite), zinc (smithsonite and calamine), lead (galena and natural lead), gold, antimony, silver, molybdenum, barite, manganese (pyrolusite), and mercury (cinnabar) have been identified in the Kerman exploratory block. These minerals were discovered and explored by experienced geologists and exploration engineers.
